D Real Asian Tiger

Sometimes I wonder how a man with a relatively small physical stature could win world titles in about eight different Professional Boxing divisions; winning ten World titles in d process. Asians are not known to be good Boxers when compared with black Americans, Africans or Central Americans. Manny Pacquiao, the Current WBO World Welt...erweight Boxing Champion was voted by the American Association of Boxing Writers as d fighter of d decade for 2000s. He is currently rated as d "Best Pound for Pound Boxer" in d World. He is an elected member of d Phillipines House of Reps; he is also into Acting and Music. Only God knows how long his dominance of d Welterweight division will continue. Manny may not have a big physical stature but he is a pretty good puncher.

New Kid on d Bridge

Andre Villas-Boas...d name may not ring a bell 2 U. He is is d new kid on d block, or d new kid on d bridge, Stanford Bridge of course. A relatively young coach at d age of 33. The former coach of Porto Fc of Portugal had a very impressive record of winning both a both local and UEFA titles with his former club last season. His is already being called d new Jose Morinho....with d right environment and players, dis young coach can win things for Chelsea. I hope Roman Abramovich will give him the breathing space 2 win d much desired Uefa champions league. For now it is best of luck to the new Morinho

Arsenal Wenger

He needs no introduction, he calls d shots at d Emirates, d base of Arsenal Fc of London. He may not be d most popular coach in d English Premiership today, but you just cant ignore him. He is so passionate about developing his players to stardom instead of buying established stars, most of us see him as being too prudent with funds ...but he has his admirers in d boardroom of Arsenal Fc. His club may not have won any major trophy in d past few seasons but one can help but appreciate d free flowing short-passing style of Arsenal, some call it "sexy football". I particularly respect Arsene Wenger for his love for African Players; he has helped in nurturing the careers of a lot of African players; name them, from George Opong Weah, Victor Ikpeba, Kanu Nwakwo, Emmanuel Eboue, Alex Song, Djourou, Sagna ...the list is endless...

Emmanuel Adebayor on Strike

Manchester City's  sour relationship with Emmanuel Adebayor deepened recently with the player virtually going on strike. Adebayor is likely to be fined at least two weeks wages – £330,000 in total – and may be in breach of contract, after failing to show up at Carrington both yesterday and for a scheduled training session on Saturday. The player claims he is considering bringing a constructive dismissal claim, having heard of his omission from the United States tour from a secretary, but City will not release him on the cheap because they know that a Uefa exemption prevents his wages being counted when Financial Fair Play calculations are made. I think he should consider a return to Arsenal, the Gunners need him.

Is it end of d road for the Williams sisters?

One of the highlights of the 2011 Wimbledon Lawn Tennis tournament is the shock exit of the Williams sisters at the early stages of the tournament. Both sisters have won about nine out of the past eleven female singles titles at the All England club. To some discerning Tennis analysts the fourth round defeat of both Serena and Venus may not have come as a total shock considering the fact that both sisters have been off the Tennis circuit for over ten months due to one health problem or the other. Serena was the worst hit, she had serious health problems that was life threatening. Any how they both saw the Wimbledon 2011 as the  right arena to stage a good comeback to the mainstream of tennis again. The fact is that female Tennis is fast changing with the rise of players like Wozniacki, Li Na and others. It will take the Williams sisters extra work to reclaim their former dominant positions in female tennis.  The sisters will have to concentrate  more on their tennis and avoid the distractions of so called fashion statements, most times the Williams sisters are more in the news for their weird fashion sense; most times, Serena is almost out nude with very revealing dresses all in the name of fashion statements. One must respect the Williams sisters for their dominance of female tennis, they have really contributed to the popularity of female tennis in Africa and other parts of the developing world. I dont think this is the end of the road for the Williams sisters, am sure they can stage a comeback to dominate the  tennis scene again but age is definitely not on their side.

Winning in Soccer

Winning in football is not a do-or-die thing. No doubt, there is joy in winning and also there are lessons to be learnt in defeat; it is either the opponent is superior or ur effort was not good enough. Teams that have learnt from their defeats have gone ahead to achieve success on the long run. The Spanish national soccer team is the... toast of world football today, courtesy of their successes at the 2008 European Nations Cup and the World cup in South Africa in 2010. Before 2008 the Spaniards were regarded as 'perennial underachievers in world football'. They were highly rated b4 every major tournament but they always end up losing. The Spaniards were able to learn from the series of setbacks. With careful planning and consistent hard work they have risen to the peak of World soccer. With serious planning and hard work, I believe we can win anything....even the World Cup.

The two sides of Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi in d colours of Fc Barcelona is not d same as Lionel Messi in d colours of Argentina. D World's best footballer has not transferred his success at club level to d Argentine national senior soccer team, Some pple have started comparing Messi with Pele of Brazil and Maradona of Argentina. Pele won trophies for both his club... Santos and d Brazilian national team, Maradona won laurels with Boca juniors Fc in his country and also with Napoli Fc in Italy and d Argentine national team. Lionel Messi is no doubt an exceptionally gifted footballer; he is still young, for him to be ranked with d all time greats he has to carry his club magic to the national team...I hope he may start now with d Copa America which his country is hosting.
